Acorns

A small fest that puts a premium on the trappings of a big fest – red carpets, sponsored parties, but pretty rough around the edges. I watched the festival director lose a screener, yell at a filmmaker for not having a backup (a real self-righteous tirade), and then find the screener he’d lost. If you’re near LA, there’s no reason not to screen here, but there are many small fests that take better care of filmmakers. I’d argue that MethodFest doesn’t have its priorities straight.

Well done festival, we won “The Best Screenplay Award” so I am biased. But they make you feel like a big shot. Red Carpet, paparazzi, and a beautiful theater. Lots of parties, and really great selection of films. If you can get in it’s worth the price of admission.
