Once upon a time a festival that rallied Toronto but has since become a bit of an embarrassment for its hometown of Montreal. Beyond mildly shoddy administration on the filmmaker side of things, the FFM, as it’s known, has alienated itself from the entertainment news media. Through recent lack of administration and neglect at the hands of its autocratic founder and president Serge Losique the festival arrogantly refuses to help in its own promotion or the promotion of it’s film roster.

This new reputation hasn’t permeated very far into the rest of the world yet and the FFM is still looked upon with some prestige. But if Losique doesn’t call it quits soon, this once great film fest will not recover.
