The music video I made for my brother’s band, World Collision’s “Essenger,” played during New York’s Summer 2010 program. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this festival to filmmakers and film lovers! The venue is wonderful, rich in history and very relaxed and casual. I absolutely LOVED coming to this festival!
NewFilmmakers NY is a terrific venue, not the least because Barney Oldfield, the Executive Producer, makes it so. He is accomodating, informative, and goes to great lengths to insure a successful screening. I have screened there twice, and will submit work in the future.
My documentary film “The World’s Tallest Architect. A documentary on Cesar Pelli”, had the New York premiere at The Anthology Film Archives with the NewFilmmaker’s Summer Festival. We all enjoyed some Argentinean wine, cheese and cookies and some words about architecture after the film. Right after the film, I was asked by one of the NewFilmmaker’s organizers about my film’s website and my plans for the future. The movie theater was clean and easy to fill! I recommend this place to anyone looking to screen his/her film in New York. It is located near everything in downtown Manhattan.
This was one of the first film festivals to recognize and accept the HUMAN GAME 2. The owner and festival coordinator were welcoming and full of great advise. The location was very spacious and modern. Overall, I had a wonderful experience there and would recommend this festival to any aspiring filmmaker as well as veterans of the film industry.
My film “Cracked” screened at the Winter Festival portion of the New York side of this festival. I really enjoyed the causal atmosphere of the festival screenings. Wine, beer and snacks were served prior to all filmmakers in attendance being invited up to the stage to introduce themselves and to give thanks to any and all involved in their production. Once the screenings were complete, the host of the event then asked each filmmaker to talk about current and upcoming projects as well as offer website information to attendees that were interested in seeing more from the filmmakers in attendance. The screenings took place at the Anthology Film Archives in New York, a theater rich in independent film history, perfect setting for a New York premiere. Highly recommended!
